This past weekend Cleveland Public Power hosted a Workshop in preparation for the 1st Annual Solar Sprint to be held as part of its Public Power Week Open House on Saturday, October 11th.
Twelve teams registered for the event, with the Cleveland Municipal School District’s Charles A. Mooney Mustangs entering four for the most from any organization or group!
During the Workshop CPP Electrician Austin Taylor went over the basic construction of the solar powered cars provided to the students and fielded questions.
At the end of the session the students were pumped and ready to begin designing their own vehicles. In addition to CMSD the Sprint will feature teams from the Westside Boys and Girls Club, the Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority’s Outhwaite Homes, and St. Dominic School.
